FAQs
+What makes these consultation groups different?
An effective consult group gives the gift of having others who can create an environment that embraces vulnerability while celebrating your unique strengths. It is also a place to be challenged, pointing out your own triggers and seeing things in the cases that you might otherwise miss.
The culture and frame of these groups is set by me, a trauma expert so you know you aren’t just getting a bunch of friends together to chat about cases, instead you are getting expert feedback that is strategic and intentional.
You will get individualized attention to share about your strengths, your struggles and discuss clinical cases where you’re needing a fresh set of eyes. I will help you learn some new skills and role play, amongst other ideas to help you learn. We will help you work with boundary work, attachment, social anxiety, somatic release, grief, and working with dissociation and legacy burdens, among other topics.
Each member of the group brings unique wisdom, and wit, as well as personal life and professional experience. We all have so much to gain from each other. Your input is highly needed and valued in this group dynamic. I am excited to learn from and with all of you!
+Is This For Someone Like Me?
This is for you if you’ve taken advanced trainings and you’re wanting a personalized approach to integrating and applying the knowledge and skills you’ve acquired. You may be trained in Cognitive Therapy, EMDR, Somatic Therapy, IFS, Ego State Work, Expressive Arts or some other method. You’re devoted to offering more in your practice, and you want to find a way to blend theory with actual clinical implications.
Integrate your methods and skills so you can improve clinical outcomes.
You know that treating trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment or grief requires way more than the basic graduate training you’ve received. You’re exquisitely aware of the importance of learning, evolving and growing as a human, and as a professional. Because of that, you've been investing time, money and energy to build your skills. However, for some reason, you still feel like you are falling short somehow.
Intellectually, you know that healing takes time but you are not sure if there is also something missing in your assessments or in the techniques you have been using. You may be drawing a blank when it comes to truly connecting with a particular client in the way they need you to.
It can be so hard to navigate the murky waters of “stuckness” when trying to show up for your clients. I get it.
When I was new to the field, I recall knowing a lot of “knowledge” but second guessing myself and wondering if I knew what I was doing. I was longing for support and for expert consultation. I wanted to feel confident and to convey the wisdom I had acquired. A big conference room and watching training videos only got so far. Over the many years, I’ve sought out expert consult and have surrounded myself with others who anchor me and my work. My consult groups allowed me to refine my clinical voice and find my unique approach. This is why I’ve created trauma consultation groups for clinicians.
I want you to have what helped me blossom, grow and shine.
In the real-time office hour is where the rough moments happen…and it’s also where the magical moments unfold. Let’s help you prepare for those moments so you can get “unstuck” and move towards the heart of the healing.
+I’m ready! What are the next steps?

+Who Is Running and Moderating The Group?
Esther Goldstein is the Group Consultant!
Hi, I’m Esther Goldstein, and I’m super passionate about helping clinicians harness their trauma informed skills. I want you to not only help clients heal, but for you to also have a deep understanding that your skills are adequate to help the client sitting across you. In my many years of advanced training and in my continued quest for understanding how trauma healing works, I’ve acquired a thorough, robust skill set that has helped me help many clients heal.
My practice is devoted to providing quality care to clients in need, and it’s been exciting to be able to provide just that. However, we are just one practice, and my hope is that each trauma clinician across the world gets to build their own incredible skill set so that there are more clinicians I can confidently refer to when clients are seeking trauma work.
The good news is that in working together, I won’t just teach you skills, but I’ll also share my knowledge about other trainings I’ve done in DBT, Internal Family Systems, The Structural Dissociation Model, Expressive Arts and Somatic Interventions and Attachment Based Sensorimotor Psychotherapy skills to help you maximize your clients’ treatment goals, all while using the trauma framework.
